Installing SkyVault Analytics

In these topics you will install and set up everything you need to run SkyVault Analytics. You will also set up a separate PostgreSQL or MySQL database for the data warehouse that is used to store data processed by the ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) jobs.

See Prerequisites for using SkyVault Analytics for information on what you require before you start the installation.

Make sure that you install the components in the order specified.

Step 1. Initial installation of SkyVault Analytics Download and unzip the SkyVault Analytics package and perform basic setup tasks before proceeding with the rest of the Analytics installation.
Step 2. Setting up ActiveMQ Set up Apache ActiveMQ to enable message queuing in SkyVault. If you already have an ActiveMQ instance connected to SkyVault, you do not need to perform this step.
Step 3. Installing the Analytics AMP files Install the SkyVault Analytics AMP files after you set up ActiveMQ, but before you set up the Analytics server and database.
Step 4. Installing PostgreSQL for Analytics If you are using the shipped version of PostgreSQL as your Analytics database, use these instructions to setup the database.
Step 5. Installing and setting up the Business Analytics (BA) server Use this information to install and perform the initial setup for the Business Analytics server.
Step 6. Creating the Data Integration (DI) database Use this information to create your Data Integration (DI) database for SkyVault Analytics. A separate database is required for the data warehouse that is used to store data processed by the ETL jobs.
Step 7. Setting up the database schema and ETL jobs Configure the ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) jobs and create the database schema for SkyVault Analytics.
Step 8. Setting up the SkyVault Analytics listeners Specify your server settings in the Analytics message listener file.
