You can apply drill-through links to a report to view all individual items that make up
an total value in your report.
When you click part of a chart that has drill-through links, for example, clicking on a
bar in a bar chart, a new chart will be displayed showing more details on the specific bar you
clicked on. You can continue drilling down until there are no more levels of data to display.
Drill down also works with multi-charts.
Note: Drill-through links are not available for any
calculated measures, including user-defined measures, such as Percentages, Running Sum, and
Trend measures. Drill-through links are also not available on sub-totalled cells.
- In a new or existing report click Report Options in the Layout panel or click on the Analytics toolbar and select Report Options.
- Select the Show drill-through links on Measure cells option.
- Click the Select Columns link and select the columns you want included.
-
Click OK.
When you save the report the measure fields in the report will be shown as links.
Now, when a report user clicks a link in the report, they can see a data grid that shows all of the available details for that value.
You can also add or remove columns from this grid, by clicking Select Columns at the top of the data grid. You can also search and toggle the sort order in the same way as the Available Fields list.
