Chart options for Analytics reports

If you've selected a chart format rather than a standard report format for a report, then you can customize how the chart is displayed.

Just click Chart Options in the Properties section of the Layout panel and you can customize the chart.

You can click Apply to update a report with your changes and continue changing the chart options. After you're done setting options for the chart, click OK, and the report will refresh the changes.

There are four tabs for the different chart options.

General Tab

This is where you can determine background colors, fonts, or set the domain limit for the maximum number of plot values for your report.

Option Description
Background The Fill Type defines the background color of the chart and the fill colors used. Choose from None, Solid, or Gradient.
Labels Choose a font type, size, formatting, and color of the labels in the chart.
Domain Limit Set the maximum number of plot values used in the report.

Axis Tab

This is where you define how the x-axis and y-axis or displayed on your report.

Option Description
Primary Axis Start and Stop values are calculated automatically. If you want to specify the values, deselect Auto Range and enter the Start and Stop values.
Scale Increase the scale for the primary axis, or leave it set to a default of None.
Secondary Axis Available for Scatter and Column-Line Combo charts only. Secondary Axis has the same options as Primary Axis.

Legend Tab

The Legend  tab has a few features that you can use to customize the look of the legend that goes along with your report.

Option Description
Show Legend Deselect to remove the legend from the report.
Position Choose the placement of the legend on the report.
Background Color Choose a background color for the legend.
Font Set the font type, size, format, and color associated with your legend.

Other Tab

This is where you go to tailor the look of the small charts for a report, if you have the Multi-Chart option selected. You can alter the size of negative values, or specify how you want to show empty cells in your report.

Option Description
Multi-Charts If you select the Multi-Chart option in the Layout panel then you can select how many Charts Per Row are displayed. See

You can use the same axis range for all of the charts or set them independently.

Size By Measure Treat Negative Values as: Choose either Smallest Value or Absolute.
Empty Cell Treatment (Line and Area Charts Only) Select how empty cells appear in line and area charts.
